Three (part II)

I really like today's idea of playing Taboo! :D

Although it's just a game, I think that it actually helped us to learn through our mistakes and help one another out. By not being able to say those other keywords that link us directly to the word, we can actually discover more ways to express it. In this way, it'll aid us in putting the bits and pieces of information together, connecting each of them to become a bigger picture.

Also, by not being able to guess the word(s), we can have a good gauge of what we really know and what are the concepts that we're still not sure of. Subsequently, we'll be able to identify what we have to revise so as to understand the topics taught. By the way, I think that it's very fun too (in a way)! :D

  1. the game definitely was a different way to helpus revise. it was not the first though, the qns/mini quiz just after lesson 1 was really helpful too. anyway, this lesson was interesting too as we did investigate the mystery of the missing carbon. its really disappointing to know that mother nature is helping us by absorbing more and more co2 from the atmosphere while we humans just keep producing more and more thinking that mother nature will continue to do so. well, if we benighted humans do not wake up, mother nature will turn against us as well. and all of this for what? the economy? think about it..... maybe we are not as developed as we thought..... so short sighted....

  2. I disagree with your last point, Leonard.

Those CO2 that is building up in the atmosphere is the product of thousands of year of civilization. Without those "CO2-producing technology", human are still in the dark age!

Remember that even fire created CO2. But without fire, will we be able to be this developed until now?

Your point of view is of an extremist. You think the CO2 producing procedures do not worth the harm they have been causing to the Earth?

Yes, if you can live in caves, with sticks and stones as tools, you can say so. If you have something can guarantee that billions of people can live that way, you can say so.

Human are the most important thing we should care about! If there is no human, what's the point of protecting the environment? I can say that because we want a better environment for people, protecting the Earth and the atmosphere is necessary!

The prove of the fact that we are developed and not near-sighted is that, for ages, people keeps inventing and keep researching technologies that can improve the situation: Reducing the amount of CO2 and other harmful chemicals released to Earth.

P/S I agree that the game helped a lot :) That was a nice lesson we dont need to study much XD

  3. Regarding both points of views, i feel that there must be a balance in everything we do and we cant be too extreme in either ways. I think what Leonard's point is is that we should reduce the effects we are having on mother nature as it will also effect humankind greatly.
